Ms Salome Ganibe, AWCF’s Executive Director, just came back from Korea after being one of the resource persons in the recently concluded “Training Workshop on Economic Empowerment of Rural Women in Asia Thru Green Coop Entrepreneurship” held 5-8 October 2008 in Seoul, Korea. In this training, Ms Ganibe provided inputs on co-operative formation and management, gender equality in co-ops, and transformative leadership (TL) as a whole to selected senior government officials from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. This training was part of KOICA’s advocacy on human resource development aimed at providing opportunities to individuals from developing countries to gain first-hand knowledge that is useful in their home country or local community. The course was sponsored by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and was organized by APWINC (Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center).
